“THE Shops at Azuela Cove, Lanang will be launched within the year together with their events tent that is big enough to accommodate 1,500 people. The Shops is a 2,000 square meter (sqm) land development included in the 25-hectare mixed-use development of Azuela Cove which is a development project of Aviana Development Corporation, the joint venture company of Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) and Alcantara Group. It targets to be Davao’s prime waterside lifestyle, business, and residential district all rolled in one compound. The entire landscape is divided into three zones — the urban gateway park, the central valley park, and the waterfront park. In the press statement released by ALI, there is are already initial investors committed to invest in The Shops, which is targeted to be home to local food favorites including national and international restaurants. Aside from the dining establishments, an events tent will also be available in the estate and can cater up to 1,500 people. The events tent is eyed to be where future banquets, wedding receptions, conferences, seminars, and exhibits be held. Also included in the real estate development is a 90-meter by 58-meter soccer field which can be used for sports and recreation activities. The soccer field was based on international standard sizes. The development will also have open park for jogging, biking, and any other outdoor activities. A condominium unit will also be constructed in the development, promising a view of the Samal Island and Davao Gulf. It was also previously reported that Aviana Development Corporation already signed a memorandum of agreement last May 30 with the St. Luke’s Medical Center to put up a branch of the said healthcare facility in the Azuela Cove by 2022. “Definetely, St. Lukes Medical Center is committed to come in to Davao. This will be the first world-class health care facility here in Davao. This is quite a welcome development,” said Abreeza Ayala Malls operations manager Janice Parreño when she announced the signing of MOA to the members of the media during the press conference at Habi at Kape, Abreeza.” — JENNIE P.
